Our Studies

Everyday Play

How do infants decide what to explore in complex real-world environments? By examining the development of exploratory action during unstructured activity, we can learn how new motor skills (e.g., crawling, walking) offer infants new opportunities to interact with the physical and social environment and new ways to learn. In this study, your child will play in our lab playroom, which will be set up with different types of toys, such as cars and balls. We are looking for 8 - 18 month-old children. To participate, contact us by emailing vuexplorelab@gmail.com or calling (615)343-3618!

Reaching and Walking

In this study, we are interested in how babies learn to coordinate their arms and legs to achieve a goal. During the appointment, your child will be presented with a moving toy and will be encouraged to catch it! We are looking for walking children between the ages of 6 - 24 months.
